Being One

A monk was meditating in a cave. At that moment, a mouse entered and began to gnaw at his sandals. The monk opened his eyes angrily: “Why do you bother me when I pray?” “I’m hungry,” said the mouse. “Go away, stupid mouse,” warned the monk, “I seek Unity with God, how can you bother me?” The mouse then asked: “If you can’t be “one” with me yet, how do you want to be “one” with God?
